Mary M. Mcvinney

McVinney, Mary M. (Leonard) of Quincy, passed away August 3, 2012. Mary was forever dedicated to her late husband George “Smacks” McVinney, who is survived by his son Robert. Devoted lifelong friend to Eleanor Harden. Loving aunt to George & Lorraine Harden, Janice & Tommy Miley, Patricia Finnegan, and Marie & Richard Mooney. Known and loved as Aunt “Mamie” to fifteen great nieces and nephews. Followed by twenty one great-great nieces and nephews. Mary was born in County Galway Ireland. She worked for New England Telephone from 1937 until 1955. She then took a position as a claims manager with the Social Security Administration where she worked for 23 years retiring back in 1982. Mary loved Nantasket Beach and enjoyed many visits with her late husband Smacks and her dear friends. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8pm in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 8:15am prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 9 AM. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
