Burke, Mary M. (Flaherty) of Quincy, formerly of S. Boston and Galway City Ireland, August 3, 2005. Wife of the late Edmund V. Burke, Sr. Loving mother of Mark F. Burke and his wife Linda of Cambridge, Edmund V. Burke, Jr. and his wife Ann of Quincy, David L. Burke and his wife Mary Jane of Belmont, Maryellen K. and her husband Dennis O’Leary of Braintree, Kevin Burke and his wife Ileana of FL, Barbara G. Burke of E. Boston, and Joseph M. Burke and his wife Colleen of Brockton. Dear sister of Martin Flaherty of Wilmington, Patricia Lee of FL, Clare Flaherty of Norwood, and the late Clement and John Flaherty. Cherished grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON Monday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, N. Quincy at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours Sunday 4 – 8 PM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. Donations in memory of Mary may be made to Marian Manor, 130 Dorchester St., So. Boston, MA 02127. Mary served in the U.S. Army during WWII, earning the Women’s Army Corps Service Medal, WWII Victory Medal and an Honorable Service Lapel Button. She was a 20 year employee of the U.S. Postal Service in the South Postal Annex in South Boston, retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Marge Crispin Center in Braintree, the Castle Island Association in South Boston, the Amvets and the Retired Postal Workers Association. She was an enthusiastic Red Sox Fan!
