<PHOTO>Harkin, Mary “Louise” (Connolly) of Weymouth, passed away June 10, 2017.
Louise was born and raised in Dorchester and later moved to Quincy in 1940. She graduated from St. Margaret’s School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse at St. Margaret’s for 20 years. She then worked at multiple nursing homes in Quincy. Family was the center of her life. Louise loved taking trips to Bermuda and had an annual vacation to Dennisport every summer. She also enjoyed traveling to Ireland, for she was very fond of her brother and sister-in-law’s who lived there and in Chicago. She had a great love for animals and shopping. Louise will be remembered for her thoughtful, generous, honest and nonjudgmental ways. She was a hard worker and had a sassy sense of humor. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Daughter to the late John and Catherine (McGowan) Connolly. Dear wife to the late James Harkin for 53 years. Cherished mother to Catherine Joyce and her husband Thomas of Weymouth, Mary Lou Duff and her husband William of Dorchester, Daniel Harkin of Weymouth, Carol McElligott and her husband John of Weymouth, Theresa Harkin and her husband Stephen of Weymouth and the late Ann Marie Harkin. Sister to the late John Connolly and Edward Connolly. Caring “Nana” to Kristen, Matthew, Ryan, Brenna, Brendan, Kaileigh and Shawn and great “Nana” to James. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog of 17 year, Zoey.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 8:30-9:30 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. There will be a Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Donations in memory of Louise may be made to Grow Associates Program, 68 Mazzeo Drive, Randolph, MA 02368.
