Mary Lou Whalen

Mary Lou Whalen, of Weymouth, died January 6, 2022. 

Born in Boston to the late John J. and Veronica (Tobin) Whalen of Newfoundland. 

Mary Lou was raised in South Boston. Briefly residing in Quincy and Holbrook, she was a longtime resident of Weymouth. 

She enjoyed doing many crafts in her spare time a few being sewing, needlepoint, and knitting. Mary Lou was an avid reader, especially when it came to reading about the history of our country. Having a love for cooking she also collected many recipes.

Faith was a staple in Mary Lou’s daily routine, she would watch Mass every day. She was a devoted caregiver to her parents. 

Mary Lou is survived by her beloved sister Caroline Flaherty of Sparrows Point, MD, and many loving nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sisters Constance Donovan, Ruth Farrell Mercer and her brother John Whalen Jr. 

Funeral services and interment for Mary Lou will be held privately.
