Mary L. Haley

Haley, Mary L. (Hogan) of Weymouth, passed peacefully from this life surrounded by her loving family on August 17, 2021.

Mary was born in the Neponset section of Boston to the late Margaret and Michael Hogan. She was a graduate of Dorchester High School for Girls, Class of 1947. Mary was a dedicated homemaker and later worked for New England Telephone, Purity Supreme and Blue Cross Blue Shield. She was a passionate dancer and 30-year member of the Irish Social Club of Boston in West Roxbury. An avid sports fan, Mary always followed Boston teams, and she was always involved with her four sons’ ice hockey games.

Mary loved the beach and spent many summers on the Cape. She and her husband Bob loved staying with their sons at Chase’s Ocean Grove in Dennis Port, eating dinner at Baxter’s Boathouse in Hyannis, or seeing Rocky King perform at the Sand Bar in West Dennis. In later years, Mary and Bob enjoyed cruises to Bermuda with friends, and, eventually fulfilling their dream of getting their own boat, they could often be found cruising around Boston Harbor.

Mary was the beloved wife of almost seventy years to the late Robert E. Haley, Sr.;  loving mother of Robert E. Haley, Jr. of Quincy, Paul R. Haley (former MA State Rep.) and his wife Jackie of Weymouth, Mark E. Haley of Quincy, and Brian D. Haley of Weymouth; sister of Paul Hogan of Weymouth, Walter Hogan of Rockland, and Anne Hogan of Weymouth; proud grandparent of Jennifer, Leesha, Michael, Christopher, and Erin; and proud greatgrandmother of  five. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
