Mary L. Gethin

Gethin, Mary L. (Donovan) of Quincy, died on December 19, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer, she was 55.

The beloved and devoted wife of 35 years to Michael T.Gethin of Quincy.  Loving mother of Michael W. Gethin of Quincy and his companion Kristine Thayer of Norfolk, Patrick J. Gethin and his wife Nicole Clark Gethin of Marshfield and Dallas R. Hudgins and his fiance Kerry Powers of Quincy. Daughter of Viola J. (Harrington) Donovan of Quincy and the late William Donovan. Sister of Mark K. Donovan of Plymouth and the late Cheryl Grigas, William “Mike” Donovan and Danny Donovan.  Cherished grandmother of Dallas R. & Kaley Hudgins and Lillian Gethin.  Daughter in law of Michael J. Gethin of Quincy. Sister in law of Michele Schurga of Weymouth, Lenore Cunningham of Pembroke and Lisa Atkins of Quincy.

Mary worked for the City of Quincy as a Property Manager at Quincy Housing Authority for many years. She had a strong work ethic and was passsionate about her job. The foundation of her life was her family, they were what was most important to her. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished grandmother, a loyal friend and a courageous women who was loved by all. She will be sadly missed. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 3-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 9:30am prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
