Bamford, Mary “Kay” C. (Mitchell) of Quincy September 24, 2007. Beloved wife of the late Quincy Firefighter, Ralph Bamford. Loving sister of the late Thomas J., Peter J., John J. and Leo F. Mitchell, Margaret McPartlin, and Claire Crowley. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Monday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, N. Quincy at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours Sunday 2- 6 PM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. Kay was born in Boston and lived in Dorchester until moving to Quincy, where she has lived for the last 70 years. Mrs. Bamford was very active in the community as a member of several organizations. She was a member of the Commissioners on Housing, the Tobin Towers Association, AARP Local 4097 and the Quincy Council on Aging where she was a member for over 35 years and served as secretary. Mary was also active in both Sacred Heart and St. Ann’s Parish. Kay enjoyed reading and travelling throughout the US visiting friends and relatives. Donations in memory of Mrs. Bamford may be made to Sacred Heart School, 20 Glover Ave., North Quincy, MA 02171.
