Hamel, Mary K. (Kent) of Hingham August 29, 2007 on her 63rd wedding anniversary. Wife of the late Paul W. Hamel. Loving mother of Mary H. Gill of Canton, John K. of Duxbury, Paul W., Jr. of Hingham, Thomas of Leland, NC, Sheila H. Pike of Wolfboro, NH, and Richard of Hampton, NH. Sister of Peter Kent of CA, John S. Kent, III of IN, Phillip Kent of ID, Michael Kent of Chatham, and the late James P. Kent, Margaret K. Rooney and Richard Kent. Sister in law of Kay Kent of Falmouth. Mary was the devoted grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., (off Central St.) HINGHAM, Friday at 11 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Paul’s Church, Hingham at 1 PM. Visitation prior to Mass. Burial in Saint Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham. Mary worked as a teacher’s aid for the First Early Intervention Program in Weymouth. For her 20 years with the program, she focused her time with children from 0-3 years old. While raising her family in Hingham, Mary was very active with St. Paul’s School and Church. She also served as both Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader and attended countless sporting events of her children and grandchildren. Mary was a former member of the Catholic Women’s Group and enjoyed gardening. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
