Mary J. (Feeney) Logan, of Braintree, entered Eternal Life on Nov. 1, 2015, at the age of 87. She was the beloved husband of the late Paul G. Logan for 65 years, and cherished mother of 5 children: Paul T. Logan and his wife Jeanne, of Weymouth; Maureen E. Logan-Zemina and her husband Michael, of Plymouth; Brian E. Logan and his wife Lauren, of Pembroke; Sheila A. McCarthy and her husband Robert, of Braintree; and Maryann Lohan and her fiancé Anthony Costa, of Hanover. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Nora (Fahy) Feeney, and sister of the late Thomas Feeney, Jr, and John Feeney, both of Braintree.
Born in Boston, Mary graduated from Monsignor Ryan High School, and worked as a secretary for Akers Motor Lines and for the Gillette Corporation. With her husband Paul, they began their family in Dorchester before building their home in Braintree in 1968, and became devoted members of Sacred Heart Parish in Weymouth Landing. After raising her children, Mary worked as a respiratory therapist, and as an elder care ombudsman, as well as assisting her husband Paul in developing the Steam Engineering Institute. She also enjoyed handmade crafts and gardening.
Mary’s love for her family was her hallmark, and she loved to travel with Paul, often bringing children and grandchildren to memorable destinations, especially to Ireland and Puerto Rico.
Visiting hours will be held at the McDonald-Keohane Funeral Home, 809 Main Street, South Weymouth, on Wednesday, November 4, from 4 – 8pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth Landing, on Thursday, November 5, at 9:30 am, with burial to follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, in Braintree.
