Mary E. Gearty,  of Hull, MA , died on June 18, 2024, Mary E. Gearty passed away at home. For the past several years Mary fought a courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Mary fought this battle with grace, dignity and a sense of humor. Mary’s family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and staff of the Dana Faber Cancer Center in Boston, MA for all of the care that they provided to her.

Mary is the beloved daughter of the late Robert F. Gearty and the late Elizabeth J. (Peabody) Gearty of Norwood, MA. Loving sister of Lianne Gearty of Taunton and Robert F. Gearty, Jr. and his wife Natalie of Hull. Treasured aunt to Melissa Audyatis and her husband Michael of Berkeley, Carolyn Burrell of Weymouth, Jaclyn Farrar and her husband Nate of Pembroke, Timothy Gearty of New York City and Alyson Gearty of Weymouth. She is also survived by her grandnieces, Meghan and Kate Audyatis of Berkeley, Madison and Alina Farrar and her grandnephew Owen Farrar of Pembroke.

Mary is a graduate of Ursuline Academy, Westwood and attended Boston State University. Mary spent the majority of her career in the telecommunications industry as a manager for New England Telephone and later with AT&T. In the later part of her life she worked for Rockland Trust in the IMG division. After retiring from her working career Mary enjoyed volunteering at Wellspring in Hull and to stay busy she worked part time at Talbots in Hingham.

Mary also loved to read, gardening and loved living on the ocean. Her greatest joy was to spend time with her family and friends. 

At Mary’s request her ashes will be scattered per her wishes and there will be no services.
