Mary F. Schofield

Mary F. (Gibbons) Schofield of South Weymouth, formerly of Hyde Park and Dorchester, died July 4, 2013 at 99 years old. In her early years Mary worked in a bakery in Dorchester and later carried her skills to her own kitchen as she raised her family. She enjoyed gardening and bird watching. Mary was strong in faith and an advocate of the Rosary. She will be sadly missed. 

Beloved wife of the late John A. Schofield, Detective Sergeant, BPD. Devoted mother of Mary E. Russo and her husband Ronald of Weymouth, James T. Schofield and his late wife Terry of Palmer, TX and the late John A. Schofield and his wife Jeanne of Aurora, IL. Cherished grandmother of Donna Russo, Maryanne Ramirez, Christine Russo Dufault, Sean Schofield, Russell Schofield and 8 great-grandchildren. Loving sister of Madeline Gibbons of Dorchester/Cambridge.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 6-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital)  Funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Tuesday at 10 AM. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. Donations in memory of Mary may be made to the Alzheimers Assn., MA Chapter, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
