Mary Eva Gale

Mary Eva (Hurlburt) Gale, 88, of Weymouth passed away peacefully on Friday, May 9, 2014 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was surrounded by her loving family. 

Born and raised in North Quincy, Eva graduated from North Quincy High School in 1943. After graduation, she went on to work for Sears, Roebuck and Company in the Auditing Unit.

Eva was a fantastic cook and baker, an avid reader, and enjoyed working in her garden. She also loved the beach and spending time with her family. 

Beloved wife of the late Thomas E. Gale. Devoted mother to Carole (Gale) Gillis and her husband Ed of Abington and the late Thomas E. Gale Jr. and his wife Kathy of Weymouth. Loving grandmother to Bryan Gillis and his wife Kerri of Marshfield, Jason Gillis and his wife Tracy of Whitman, Adam Gillis and his wife Kathy of Halifax, Nicole (Gillis) MacDonald and her husband Dan of Braintree, and Jennifer (Gale) Coscia and her husband Jim of Abington. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street)  Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 AM in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles St. (corner of Charles & Middles Streets), Weymouth. Burial in Village Cemetery, Weymouth.

A heartfelt “Thank You” to Active Day of Hingham, Caregiver Homes of MA, and Norwell Hospice for the love, care, and support they provided to Eva and family over the past several years.
