Mary Ella Simpson

Mary Ella Simpson (Hogue) of Quincy lived a happy 88 years and died peacefully on October 6, 2021.

Being surrounded by her family and loved ones brought her so much joy. She enjoyed trips to the beach, going out to eat with a view, and in recent years spending time with her four great grandchildren. She loved to read, especially about the movie stars! Going to the movies was a “treat”! Driving and listening to music like Frank Sinatra always put her in a great mood. She especially loved to spoil her loved ones and was always thinking of others throughout the year as she picked out Christmas presents. She enjoyed writing, and wrote many letters to her daughter in law and pen pal Michele in Las Vegas. And especially loved her trip there with her family in 2007. She passes on a legacy of family traditions that we will forever miss having her a part of.

She is predeceased of her husband Joseph Simpson, and survived by her daughter, Cheryl and her husband, Daniel Plant of Hanover; Her son, Michael Simpson and his girlfriend Marilyn of Rockland; She is predeceased by her son, Joseph Simpson of Quincy and her sister F. Elaine Soter of Arlington. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Daniel Plant, Joseph Plant, Stacey Simpson, and Katherine  Kapoutsos. Her four great grandchildren Nicholas Kapoutsos, Lucas Kapoutsos, Thomas Albert, and Tessa Albert. She is survived by her niece Patricia Soter and nephew Ted Soter of Arlington and many cousins, great nieces, and great nephew.
