Mary Elizabeth Wright

Mary Elizabeth (Austin) Wright, of Weymouth, formerly of South Boston, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving and devoted family on May 27, 2021.

Mary raised her family of 8 children in South Boston and was a friend to all.  She lived out her faith every day; she welcomed all whom she met into her heart and home and always extended a hand to those in need.  Mary had a way of making strangers, friends while leaving a lasting impression on those fortunate to have met her.  She reveled in any opportunity to share pictures of her beloved children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her greatest legacy.  She taught selflessness, determination, acceptance, and love for all God’s creatures. Mary was pure, genuine and the sweetest, most-loving woman to all. She will be remembered for her sweet disposition, generosity, and endearing kindness.

Beloved wife of the late Edward Joseph Wright. Devoted mother of the late Jacqueline Woods and her late husband William, Edward Wright of Quincy, Donna Steverman and her late husband Joseph of Weymouth, Patricia Wright and her late husband Paul Brunick of South Boston, Mary Ellen Wright Ryan of Quincy, Kevin M. Wright of Quincy, Robert Wright of Weymouth and his companion Jill Queally, and Gerard Wright of Weymouth.  Devoted Mother-in-law of Sarah Wright, cherished Nana of 19 grandchildren and Nannie to 22 great-grandchildren. Also survived by her niece Elaine Miller of VA and the Miller family, Son-in-Law, Kevin Ryan and Daughter-in-Law, Janice Healey-Wright.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday, June 2^nd, 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 11 AM Thursday, June 3rd prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth at 12 PM.

Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
