Mary Elizabeth Galante

Galante, Mary Elizabeth of Quincy, April 3, 2007. Beloved wife of the late Robert O. Galante. Loving sister of Sr. Ellen Sullivan, RSM of Windham, NH and Kathleen A. Gemeski of NJ. Devoted friend of Katherine J. Spring of Quincy. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Wednesday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Wollaston at 10 AM. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-7 PM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. Mary loved the Red Sox and enjoyed watching their games. She was especially proud of the 2004 season when they won the World Series. Mrs. Galante enjoyed dancing and bowling and was a member of the St. Ann’s Bowling League. Mary had volunteered with mentally challenged children and enjoyed helping them. Mrs. Galante was most proud of her sister who had become a religious nun. Her family enjoyed vacations together and had visited the Irish Village in Yarmouth on Cape Cod for the past 10 years. Mary enjoyed a good laugh and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was caring, affectionate, loving and gentle. She enjoyed meeting new people at her job at TJ Maxx in Braintree and especially loved to hand out lollipops to the children. She graduated from Quincy High School in 1954. Donations in memory of Mrs. Galante may be made to the Jimmy Fund, 1309 Beacon St., Brookline, MA 02446-9918.
