Mary Elizabeth Depperman

Depperman, Mary Elizabeth (Zeek), passed away September 16, 2022 in her home in Hingham MA, with her family by her side. She is predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Kenneth Roy and survived by her son David and daughter-in-law Kristi of Collierville, TN, son Douglas of Long Beach, CA, daughter Ann of Scituate, MA, and grandchildren Andrew and Sara of Collierville, TN. Mary was the best of mothers, devoted to her children and grandchildren.

Mary was born in Somerville NJ in 1933, the daughter of Leslie and Sula (Walter) Zeek and sister of Doris Mae. She attended New Jersey State Teachers College in Trenton and graduated with a BA in Music in 1955. After graduation, she married her Plainfield (NJ) High School sweetheart, a graduate of the USCGA and raised three children. Mary was a gifted pianist and shared her talent with scores of students from Oklahoma to Massachusetts. She also served as organist at several local churches, including First Trinitarian Congregational of Scituate and Second Congregational of Cohasset.

A private burial will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mary can be made to the incredible women of Beacon Hospice Care, 32 Resnik Rd., Suite 3, Plymouth, MA 02360 or any musical organization that you hold dear.
