Mary E. Symonds

Symonds, Mary E. (Walsh) of Quincy, February 19, 2009. The beloved wife of 65 years to Frank W. Symonds of Quincy. Loving mother of Mary Symonds of CA, Francis W. Symonds of Middleboro, Anne T. Roderick of Easton and Patricia A. Ferrier of Middleboro. Sister of the late Robert F. Walsh, Alice K. Walsh and James D. Walsh. Loving grandmother of Charles J. Roderick, Mishell R. Roderick, Courtney M. Roderick all of Brockton and Kyle M. Ferrier of Quincy. Mary was a Quincy resident for more than 80 years. She worked as a telephone operator for over 45 years. She began her career at AT & T and then worked for Quincy Public Schools as an operator and ended her career working for Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Mary enjoyed cooking and baking. She really enjoyed playing cards games with her longtime girl friends. She cherished her trips to Cape Cod with her family and loved her walks around Castle Island in South Boston. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Life Celebration Service in Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, Monday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Wollaston at 10 AM. Visiting hours Sunday 3- 7 PM. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mary may be made to Alzheimers Assn., MA Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
