Mary E. (Sheehan) Nolan Bimmler

Mary Elizabeth Nolan Bimmler of Falmouth, MA and Pinellas Park, FL, passed away peacefully on October, 14th 2022. She was 100 years old.

Just after the conclusion of World War I, Mary Elizabeth Sheehan was born on November 27, 1921 and raised in Savin Hill, MA. Daughter of Francis Patrick Sheehan and Frances (Walsh) Sheehan, Mary was one of 8 children: Thomas Sheehan, Frances Doran, John Sheehan, Katherine “Kitty” Doyle, Edward Sheehan, Ann Carven and Dorothy Clapp. Mary was exceptionally proud that her father was part of the 1908 US Olympic team that competed in London.

Mary was married to Charles Collins Nolan on June 19, 1943, their love grew and so did their family. Loving mother of seven children; Mary Burnham and husband Robert of Maine and New Hampshire, Andrea Donilla and husband Walter of Peachtree City, GA, Karen Darrer and husband Norman of Poinciana, FL, Dianne Anderson and husband Glenn of Naples, FL, Chris Nolan and wife Mary Beth of Mystic, CT, Mark Nolan and wife Kathleen of Halifax, MA and Terri Giardini and husband Joseph of Carver, MA. 18 Grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, loving aunt to 36 nieces and nephews, numerous grandnieces, and grandnephews and yes, great-grandnieces and nephews as well.  Mary was predeceased by two grandchildren, Becca Nolan, and Joey Giardini. Mary’s great love and pride for all of them was evidenced by her every day.

Having lived through the Great Depression and World War II, Mary was truly part of America’s “Greatest Generation”.

After the premature death of her husband Charles in 1971, Mary went to work in real estate and balanced the demands of being a single parent and a working mother in an age where that was the exception, not the rule. She handle both roles remarkably well and went on to enjoy an exceptional career in real estate for decades.  After many years as a widow, Mary was remarried to her childhood friend William Bimmler in 1998 until his death in 2012. Bill’s children; Diane Panitsas, Kevin Bimmler, Kurt Bimmler, Katie Reuter and 6 grandchildren were much loved by Mary as well and were accepted as lovingly as her own children.

Mary taught all her children the power of love, music and prayer and this gift has been passed on through three generations of her descendants. She will be remembered, missed, and loved by all.  May she enjoy God’s great love.
