Hallahan, Mary E. (Evans) of Quincy, January 14, 2007. Wife of the late Gerald P. Hallahan. Loving mother of G. Patrick Hallahan, Jr. of Fairfield, CA, Thomas D. of Pembroke, Susan E. Hayes of Port St. Lucie, FL, Carol M. Smith of Darien, CT, Katherine L. Mulcahy of Medford, Daniel P., Joseph C. and Robert S. Hallahan all of Quincy, James T. of Bellevue, NE and John E. Hallahan of Braintree. Sister of the late Thomas J. and Henry T. Evans. Mary is also survived by her 29 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Thursday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, N. Quincy at 10 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 4- 8 PM. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Mary may be made to Hospice of the South Shore, 100 Baystate Dr., PO Box 9060 Braintree, MA 02184. Mary was born in Boston and spent most of her life in Dorchester before moving to Quincy back in 1974.Mary worked for State Street Bank as an accounts manager for nearly 20 years retiring at age 65. At State Street Bank, Mary was known as ” Cusip Mary”. She enjoyed crocheting, and was known as a yarn junkie. Mary love to read and was described by her family as a furious reader. She enjoyed playing cards and had a passion for the “10 of diamonds” . She enjoyed cooking for her ten children. She was a humble women with a great sense of humor. Mary was a loving mother and devoted friend, she was still best friends with her bridesmaids after all these years. Her energy level never cease to amaze her children. She always had enough energy to play on the floor with her great grandchildren. Mary’s mission in life was to keep very involved in her ten childrens lives, and she did a fabulous job at that! She was a remarkable women who was very proud of all her children , and she will be missed!
