Mary Denise Galvin of Hull, formerly of Hingham, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving daughters on Sunday, July 10, 2022. She was 79.
She was born in Boston to Mary E. (Long) and Denis Feely and raised in Mission Hill. After graduating from Mission High School, she went on to earn her associate degree from the Boston School of Dental Nursing. As a young mother, she worked nights at the Federal Reserve Bank in Boston. Denise also worked as a clerk in the Hingham Assessor’s office for many years, where she made many lasting friendships.
Denise was a passionate baker who had perfected her recipe for chocolate chip cookies and lemon squares. She enjoyed many trips to the Cape with her grandchildren for mini golf competitions and ice cream rewards. Denise was her grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader, attending sporting events, plays and academic celebrations for each of her cherubs. She used her passion for painting as a medium to express her love for those around her, always sending a personalized note with a hand painted watercolor on the front and leaving her family with many paintings to proudly display. She was a loyal friend and especially loved catching up with her “Mission Girls” whom she cherished deeply.
Beloved wife of 21 years to the late William J. Galvin. Devoted mother of Tara Muldoon and her husband Patrick of Hull, and Megan Folan and her husband Mark of Hanover. Cherished grandmother of Brendan and Erin Muldoon of Hull and William, Katie, and John Folan of Hanover. Loving great grandmother of John Patrick “J.P.” Muldoon of Hull. Sister of Paul Feely and his wife Diane “Chickie” of Reading, Denis Feely and his wife Leslie of Norton and the late Michael Feely. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Denise may be made to the Mission Church Restoration Fund, 1545 Tremont Street, Boston, MA, 02120. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
