Mary D. Johnson

Johnson, Mary (Shanley) of Milton, died on November 27, 2011. The beloved wife of the late James E. Johnson. Cherished mother of James E. Johnson, Jr. of Falmouth, Joanne S. Lee of Dorchester, Susan Peterson of Vero Beach, FL., Nancy L. Johnson of Dorchester, Stephen M. Johnson of NJ and the late Maureen Lazarus and Eileen Johnson. Sister of Joan Ridge of AZ and Norma Lord of Marion. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren. Mary was born and raised in Brookline before moving to Natick where she raised her family. A long time volunteer at Milton and Falmouth Hospitals. She moved to Milton in 2005 and enjoyed being active at Winter Hill. The essence of her life was her family. They were the foundation of all that was important to her. She treasured them. Her passing leaves a void in their lives, but her passionate sense of family will be her legacy which will live on in their lives forever. They are all grateful for all blessings that she brought to each of them. Mary will be sadly missed. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 3-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30am Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Agatha’s Church, Milton, at 10:30 AM. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mary may be made to Greater Boston Food Bank, 70 South Bay Ave, Boston, MA 02118.
