Mary D. Hiltz

Mary D. Hiltz (Marzocca) of Wareham, formerly of Weymouth and Rockland, died July 2, 2018 at the age of 86.

Mary immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 8 from L’Aquila, Italy, and weathered many winters in Sarasota, FL. She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and devotion to her family.

She was the beloved wife of James R. Hiltz for 53 years, and the late Arthur McHugh. Mary shared her life with her children, Arthur “Butch” McHugh and wife Patricia of Bristol, CT; Michael McHugh and wife Janice of Rockland; Lee McHugh and wife Barbara of Taunton; Jeffrey Hiltz and wife Nancy of Rockland; and she rejoins her children Mark McHugh and Paula Ann Hiltz in the Kingdom of Heaven. Mary was the sister of Nicholas Marzocca of Abington and the late Gloria Hiltz, Tina Fortuna, and Yvonne Orlando. Cherished grandmother to Erin, Ashley, Kevin, Erik, Sean, Richard, Christina, Scotty, Thomas, Joseph, Jeremy, Shauna, Kiley, Emily, Hannah; great grandmother to Mia, Jack, Lochlan, and Adam; and will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday, 3-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, South Weymouth at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). The family will gather at the church prior to the Funeral Mass at Holy Family Church, 403 Union St., Rockland Friday at 11 AM. Mary will be laid to rest in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Rockland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Paula Ann Hiltz Memorial Scholarship, Stonehill College, 320 Washington St., Easton, MA 02357.
