Mary C. “Maura” Gavigan

Gavigan, Mary C. “Maura” (McNally) of Quincy, passed away on September 19, 2009. Beloved wife of the late Michael Gavigan. Devoted mother of James J. Gavigan, Esq. of Quincy and Gina and her husband Thomas Flannery of Hingham. Loving sister of Tony McNally of Quincy, Bridgie McNally of Kingston Surrey, England and predeceased by 6 siblings. Cherished grandmother of Brendan, Sean, Stephen and Patrick Flannery. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Maura was born in Ireland and lived there for many years before moving to Quincy 43 years ago. She worked as a nurse at Quincy Hospital and then at Will Nursing Home in Wollaston. Later she was invloved with her husband and his business partner in the running of the Irish Pub in N.Quincy,a family business, until retiring in the mid-1990’s. She was an avid Red Sox and golf fan and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Thursday from 4 PM – 8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A brief prayer service celebrating her wonderful life will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 am on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, N. Quincy, at 10:00AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Mary may be made to Father Bills Place, 38 Broad Street, Quincy, MA 02169.
