Sullivan, Mary C. “Mamie” “Mariah” (Flynn), age 94, passed away peacefullly at the Pope Nursing Home in Weymouth, MA on January 06, 2011. Mary was born and raised in Roxbury and was a resident of Quincy for over 65 years. Mary was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker to her seven children. Mary was known to her family and freinds as a sweet, gentle woman. She enjoyed spending time vacationing in Ossipee, NH, traveling, bowling and singing. Mary was a parishioner at St. Ann’s Church in Quincy, member of the St. Ann’s Marianns, Ladies of St. James Society, wife and mother of past presidents of North Quincy Knights of Columbus. Mary is survived by her children: Daniel and his wife Madolyn of Bosotn, MA and Vero Beach, FL, David and his wife Sandra of Dedham, Claire Ball and her husband Charles of Waterford, ME, Barbara Arnold and her husband Edward of Quincy, Maryrose Mirick and her husband Wayne of Weymouth, Patricia Sullivan and her husband Richard DeCristofaro of Quincy, and her daughter-in-law Eleanor Sullivan of Weymouth. Also survived by thirteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, dear friends, and the caring staff of the Pope Nursing Home. Mary is predeceased by her husband; Commissioner and former Quincy School Committeeman John J. Sullivan Sr., her son: John J. Sullivan Jr., her sisters: Cecelia Brennan, Margaret Mullen, Theresa Hickey, and her parents: John and Honora Flynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Monday, January 10, 2011 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 8:15AM on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 prior to the Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church at 9:00 AM. Burial in ,Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Donations in memory of Mary may be made to Pope Nursing Home Activity Fund, 140 Webb Street, Weymouth, MA 02188 – Vista Care Hospice, 2 Willow Street, Suite 102, Southborough, MA 01745 or St. Ann’s Church, 757 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA 02171.
