Mary Anne Yezukevich

Yezukevich, Mary Anne (True) of Weymouth, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on June 14, 2023. She was 81.

Mary Anne was the first of eleven children of the late Thomas F. Jr. and Ruth M. (Dunn) True. She was born in 1941 in Weymouth and raised in Dorchester and West Roxbury. With her husband George Yezukevich she raised her five children in Weymouth.

Mary Anne had an amazing way of connecting with others, from family and friends to her community at large. Mary Anne was a storyteller, sharing family history of loved ones from generations ago. She had the best memory, remembering people, names, dates, and everything in between. Mary Anne was compassionate, caring, sharp-witted and hilariously funny. She was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith, attending Sunday and daily Mass, organizing events with church groups and teaching CCD throughout her children’s formative years. Above all else, Mary Anne was family oriented. She loved caring for her five children, and showed love by sewing clothes, making Halloween costumes from scratch, and always baking her legendary pecan rolls and Irish bread for the holidays. Mary Anne adored her husband, George, who she met on their first day of orientation at Boston College in September of 1959. The two married on July 11, 1964 and had many great adventures together, punctuated by their tradition of attending Boston College football games at home and away for decades.

Mary Anne enjoyed remembering her time as an elementary school teacher after college, a career that was naturally interrupted by the arrival and needs of her own growing family. As her children grew, Mary Anne returned to work alongside her father Tom in the family business, Abbott Printers in Boston. It was one of the great joys of Mary Anne’s life to be able to work with her family, many days going for a quick visit after work to see her mother Ruth before heading home.

Mary Anne was a genuine gift to this world. She enhanced the lives of everyone that met her and she will be truly missed by all who were lucky to know her.

Survived by her loving husband of almost 59 years, George Yezukevich. Cherished mother to Mary Wright of Falmouth, Michael Yezukevich of Quincy, Ellen Hebb and her husband Al of Canton, David Yezukevich and his wife Sheryl of Weymouth, and Peter Yezukevich and his wife Beth of Maine. Dear grandmother of Malcolm, Viktor, Julia, Hazel, and her special angel, Angelica. Sister of Paul, Peter, Ruth, Clare, Kevin, John, Richard, Sara, Brendan and the late Thomas True. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
