Mary Ann B. Hunter

Hunter, Mary Ann B. (Sullivan) of Hingham, died May 19, 2016.

Mary Ann was always one to put the needs of others before herself, which was evident in the way she led her life and the career path she chose.  Mary Ann was a dedicated Nurse whose career spanned over 60 years, working at both South Shore and Quincy Medical Center as well as Carney, Winthrop and D’Euville Hospitals. In the early sixties she was proudly chosen by Cardinal Cushing as a lay extension volunteer nurse in Las Vegas, New Mexico.  In addition, Mary Ann was an avid volunteer for South Shore Elder Services as both an Ombudsmon and as a Meals On Wheels Driver. As well as, a friendly visitor for church, nursing homes, mother sitter, and in St. Paul School PTO. If anyone needed a ride or favor, Mary Ann was there.  After retiring, Mary Ann even worked with her close friend as a co coordinator for Meals on Wheels in Hingham.  Mary Ann was one who loved spending time with people especially at North Beach in Hingham or any beach for that matter.

Beloved wife of the late Roger J. “Buddy” Hunter.  Loving mother of Mary Ann T. Hunter of Hingham, Joanne Keith and her husband Michael of Weymouth, and Patrick Hunter of Alexandria, VA.  Cherished daughter of the late Charles F. and Anna (Grady) Sullivan.  Sister of Joseph Sullivan of FL, and the late Charles Sullivan, Jr.  She is also survived by many friends, nieces, nephews and the North Beach Community.  A graduate of the former Sacred Heart High School in Weymouth Landing.
