Mary Alice Mciver

Mary Alice McIver (Mayzie) of Quincy passed away peacefully at home on April 28, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Mary is survived by her beloved partner George Charron, her dear mother, Patricia McIver, her devoted brother, Arthur (Butch) McIver and wife Colleen and Mary’s cherished niece, Rachael McIver.

Mary graduated from North Quincy High School and Quincy Junior College. She worked in administration for Brown Brothers Harriman and for the past 32 years at General Motors here and in Pennsylvania up until her retirement two years ago. Mary loved traveling, going on cruises and vacationing in Florida. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was fun loving with a great sense of humor, she was an interesting, articulate conversationalist and a kind and caring friend. Mary never gave up her battle no matter how difficult and debilitating the journey became. Always meticulously doing what needed to be done, buying and renovating a new home, caring for her loved ones, planning for the future. She had an unquenchable hope for survival right up until the end. She will be dearly missed.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM.
