Palmer, Mary A. (Palmer) of Hobe Sound, FL, formerly of Quincy and Weymouth passed away on May 7, 2006 peacefully after a long illness. Wife of the late Anthony F. Palmer. Devoted mother of Barbara and her husband Stephen MacNeil of Hobe Sound, FL, and the late Kenneth Palmer. Cherished grandmother of Christine A. Connor of Weymouth, Michelle A. MacNeil of Quincy and Christopher, Anthony and Michael Palmer all of Winthrop. Also survived by 3 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Saturday at 8 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Wollaston at 9:00 AM. Visiting hours Friday 4 – 8 PM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. Born in Boston, Mary moved to the South Shore where she was a long time resident of Quincy and Weymouth. Very active in Massachusetts and community politics, Vice President of the Women’s Democratic Club, President of St. Ann’s Women’s Guild and a driving force, with her husband behind the building of St. Ann’s School in the 1950’s. Her greatest pleasures were her family, good friends, cooking and lots of travel with her beloved husband. Before her illness she was an avid reader, with diverse interests and spent hours keeping up with local & world news on the national news front. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mrs. Palmer may be made to The Poor Peoples United Fund, Kip Tiernan, 645 Boylston St., Boston, MA 02116.
