Mary A. Mcnally

Mary A. McNally (Garvey) of Quincy, died July 10, 2015 at the age of 89. 

Beloved wife of the late Peter “Chris” McNally.  Loving mother of Peter R. McNally and his wife Ellen.  Cherished grandmother to Mary and Teresa McNally of Quincy.  Devoted sister of Agnes Ryan of London, Bridget McCaffrey of London, Margaret Martin of Ireland, Teresa Sitch of London, Anthony Garvey of Ireland and the late Thomas and John Garvey.  Sister in law of Tony McNally and his wife Mary of North Quincy. Sister in law of the late Maura Gavigan and her late husband Mike. Longtime dear friend of Kathleen Flynn of Milton.  Mary is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mary was born in Cloncowley, Drumlish, County Longford, Ireland and lived in London before immigrating to the United States in 1973 with her husband Chris and son Peter.  Mary had a strong work ethic working as a nursing assistant at both Presidential Nursing home and Quincy Visiting Nurses.  She was a longtime parishioner of St. Ann’s parish and as devoted to her Catholic faith.  Mary was a fiercely independent woman who enjoyed traveling and walks on the beach.  She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known her.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
