Mary A. Downs

Mary A. (Sheehan) Downs, of Weymouth, formerly of Dorchester, died March 19, 2021.

Mary was the quintessential homemaker. She took great pride in running a smooth household, ensuring that her family was well cared for. Her love and nurturing extended to anyone who entered her home. She was a constant presence at extracurricular events and everyone’s greatest cheerleader. She will be remembered for her infectious laugh and joy.  

Beloved wife of 63 years to the late Joseph R. Downs. Devoted mother of Robert J. Downs and his wife Patricia of Braintree, Patricia A. Downs of Stoughton and Kevin M. Downs and his wife Heather of Weymouth. Cherished grandmother of 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Loving sister of the late Margaret O’Leary. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30 AM Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM.

Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
