Deane, Mary Agnes (Lyons)of Quincy, died peacefully on Friday, Nov. 12, 2010 at John Adams Health Care Center . Mary was born on November 15, 1909 , she was 100 years old. The beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Deane, Sr. Loving mother of Marilyn Sullivan, Carol Seltzer, Priscilla Jarvis, Dorothy Belcher, Edward J. Deane, Mary Ellen Rose, Barbara A. McGovern and the late Thomas J. Deane, Jr., Paul R. Deane and the late Virginia Keane. Sister of the late Edward Lyons, Katherine Wolfrum and Michael Burke. Aunt of Edward Lyons, Jr. Mary is also survived by 38 grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren and 28 great great grandchildren. Mary was born in Cambridge and married at St. Mary’s Church in Cambridge on October 7, 1928. She retired from the First National Stores in Squantum & Wollaston. Mary lived in Quincy for 66 years. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was active in the Catholic Women’s Club as well as North Quincy Senior Citizens. Mary enjoyed playing bingo and other activities with her many friends. She was an avid Scrabble player. Mary will be sadly missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to John Adams Health Care Center for all the loving care everyone gave her, especially the second floor staff. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Monday 4- 8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church at 10 AM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mary may be made to John Adams HealthCare Center, Activity Dept., 211 Franklin St. Quincy, MA 02169.
