Mary A. (Bethoney) Letorney

Mary A Letorney of South Weymouth passed away peacefully on April 8, 2022

Mary was born in Boston, Ma to Thomas J Bethoney and Najeebie Bethoney on December 29, 1930.

Beloved wife of the late Joseph A Letorney. Loving mother of Marie T. Letorney of Belgium, Michael & Lisa Letorney of Hingham, Cynthia Letorney of S. Weymouth and Joseph & Mireille Letorney Jr. of Duxbury.  Devoted Grandmother to Austin, Kyle, Dalton, Brennah, Dylan and Isabella.

Mary leaves behind her sister Joyce Bethoney and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister to the late Thomas, Robert, Joseph and Jerry Bethoney and Nancy Wood.

Mary held a Masters Degree in Education from Emmanuel College.

She was an extraordinary woman of many talents; as teacher, published author/columnists, lecturer and businesswoman.

Mary was a woman ahead of her time, a pioneer who embrace new thoughts and challenges. With an extraordinary heart, she always saw the good in everyone and encouraged everyone to fulfill their dreams.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visitation on Wednesday, April 13th,  from 8:30-9:30 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital), followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial will follow Woodside Cemetery, Cohasset.
