Ridge, Martin J. “Marty” of Milton, formerly of South Boston, passed away April 12, 2012. Loving father of Denise Bridget Ridge, Michelle B. Ridge and Martin L. Ridge all of Milton. Beloved son of Barbara (Lydon) Ridge of Quincy and the late Martin A Ridge. Devoted brother of Barbara Hawko and her husband Stephen, Catherine Joyce and her husband Daniel and Susan Stille and her husband Timothy all of Quincy. Uncle of Stephen, Daniel, Matthew, Sean, Lauren, Bridget, Mary Kate, Patrick, Timothy and Michael all of Quincy. Marty was raised and educated in South Boston, He was Class President of South Boston High School Class of 1971, graduate of Boston State College and attended the University of New Hampshire. Marty worked as a probation officer in Roxbury Court from 1974 thru 1994 before working at Quincy District Court where he worked since 1994 until present. Marty was proud of his Irish heritage and was an avid history buff. He was the youngest person to run for the City Council in Boston. Marty was known for his good sense of humor and was a person that was always willing to help anyone out, especially in times of trouble, He received the Good Citizen Award in Quincy. Most importantly Marty loved his family, his children Denise, Michelle and Martin were the cornerstone of his life. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at Wednesday at 9:45 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Agatha Church, Milton at 10:30 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
