Nelson, Marsha Dawn (Pawlik), a lifelong resident of Weymouth, died October 7, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Quincy and raised in Weymouth she was a child of the late Harriette (Hicks) and Peter Pawlik. She was a 1960 graduate of Weymouth High School. Marsha received no greater joy than being with her family. After retiring she enjoyed traveling, golfing, reading, calligraphy, creating her own cards for all occasions, and at Christmas time making holiday cookies for family and friends.
Beloved wife of 52 years to Donald Gordan Nelson. Devoted mother of Dawn Elizabeth Mota and her husband Luis and Douglas Gordan Nelson and his wife Karina. Cherished grandmother of Valentina Shevelle Nelson. Loving sister of Peter Pawlik and the late Larry Pawlik. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Service in Union Congregational Church, Braintree at 10 AM. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marsha may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Center, 101 Columbian Street, Weymouth MA 02190 or Hospice of the South Shore, 30 Reservoir Park Dr., Rockland, MA 02370.
