Marla V. (Grieb) Golden

Marla V. (Grieb) Golden, a Quincy resident for more than 60 years, passed to eternal life peacefully at home on Monday, January 13, 2025. 

Born in Chicago, Illinois on September 8, 1955, Marla was the daughter of the late Stanley and Virginia Grieb. She grew up in Quincy and would later raise her family in the same home she grew up in Wollaston.

Marla was a natural nurturer and caregiver. Always ensuring there was a table full of food, brimming with laughter, and overflowing with love. She worked for many years as Chef at Milton Marketplace sharing her love of delicious meals. 

Marla was a woman of many talents. Constantly trying and perfecting new things. Whether it was gaining a black belt in karate, where she would meet her husband Mark, or taking up crocheting to make blankets for her grandchildren, she did nothing halfway. Her determination, strength and endless resilience will be only a small part of her legacy. She will be remembered often by those closest to her every time they try to recreate one of her famous only within the family meals.

Marla was the beloved wife of Mark E. Golden, with whom she shared many loving years. She was the devoted mother of Caitlin Golden, Tori Golden, Michael Golden and his wife Brittany, and the late Sean Golden and his former partner Monika Roberts. Marla was the loving grandmother of Ciaran and Carly. She was the dear sister of Tara Anderson and her husband, Vali Pisconski and her husband Stephen, and Stefan Grieb. Marla is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visitation on Monday, January 27, 2025, from 9-10 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. 

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 27, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Divine Mercy Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy. 

Interment is private.
