Marjorie E. Bargout

Bargout, Marjorie E. (Shred) 88 of Quincy, born in Norwich, Norfolk, England and formerly of Holbrook, died April 3, 2016.

Marjorie married her beloved husband in England and came to the U.S. when she was 18 years old in 1946. They were featured in the 1985 BBC documentary “She Married a Yank” chronicling the lives of English war brides. Although she left England at a young age, she always held onto her heritage. Marjorie loved her family and took care of her husband in his final days. She enjoyed knitting, reading, crossword puzzles, gardening, traveling, and volunteering. She was a woman before her time, very outgoing and independent. Marjorie had a good sense of humor and lived an interesting life, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Beloved wife of 60 years to the late Louis Bargout. Cherished mother of April Bargout of Quincy. Loving aunt of Beverly Logan of Madison, WI and Deborah Trentini of Las Vegas, NV. Dear friend of Karen Keller of Mt. Vernon, IN.
