She was the youngest daughter of the late Alton and Gladys (McDonald) Barter. Sister of the late Elsie Tomlin of Wheat Ridge, Colorado. There she attended grade school in a one room schoolhouse, where grades one through eight were taught. It was heated with a wood stove in the center of the room. She often said what a happy childhood she enjoyed and had many colorful stories about school and Sunshine. Moving to Quincy in the 30’s she graduated from Quincy High School, class of 1940.

Wife of the late Carl G. Lundin, a well-known musician on the South Shore and New England for Swedish-American music, Marita was a homemaker for most of her life. She also worked for years as a home health care aide for several families. She was an active member of the Bethany Congregational Church, a former den mother for their cub scout troop and a member of several of their groups. She was a member of the Independent Order of Vikings Stenkil Lodge #92 and a past president of the Ladies Group of the South Shore Viking Association, organizing and running their annual antique show and flea market for many years.

She is survived by two loving sons, C. Michael Lundin and Rodney V. Lundin, two devoted daughter-in-laws, Janis and Lynn Lundin, all of Weymouth. Marita took great pride in caring for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved her pet cats and dogs that she had throughout the years.
