Tsao, Marion E. (Eng) “Betty”, 87, of Ormond Beach, FL, formerly of Quincy and Braintree, died September 11, 2016.
Betty’s family was the first Chinese family in Quincy. Her father opened the first Chinese restaurant, King Joy, in Quincy during the 1940’s where Betty worked. She helped her brother Billy who published the American Reader magazine. Her favorite moment with the magazine was posing for a picture with the movie actor, Gregory Peck. Betty attended Bryant and Stratton Business Institute in Boston and worked as an administrator at the Lahey Clinic. She later worked at the Radio Shack warehouse in Randolph. She enjoyed volunteering at the Braintree Council on Aging and at South Shore Hospital’s gift and thrift shops for many years. She was part of the Laura Howe Women’s group and a Sunday School teacher for many years at Bethany Congregational Church. Betty will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Wife of the late Carson Kuo-Hsiang Tsao. Loving mother of Terry Kelley and her husband Michael of Ormond Beach, FL and Brian Tsao and his wife Julia Fey of Nashua, NH. Cherished grandmother of Christopher Kelley, Rosemary Kelley and Katrina Tsao. Predeceased by siblings Gracie Toy, Ruthie Mikami, Nellie Lew-Hanson, and Marjorie, William, Robert, James, and David Eng. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY Saturday at 10:15 AM to line up for the procession to Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree, for a graveside service at 11 AM.
