Marion C. Folan

Marion C. (Johnson) Folan of East Weymouth, died peacefully at home Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the age of 87, with her loving companion Guy K. Griffin at her side.

Born and raised in Quincy, she was the wife of the late Michael (Bud) J. Folan and loving mother of Claire O’Neill and her husband Robert of Rockland, Patricia Brooks and her husband Gregory of Hanover, Michael J. Folan III and his wife Donna of Hanson, Robert Folan-Johnson of Boston, and Barbara Folan and John LaPrade of Hatfield. She was the beloved daughter of the late George W. Johnson and Marion L. (MacPherson) Johnson and loving sister of the late Phyllis and late Dorothy Johnson. Also, the beloved and loving grandmother of Robert, Michael, Jennifer, Leanne, Jamie and Lauren and great-grandmother of Arielle and Aiden.

She graduated from Quincy High in 1946 and worked as a secretary for several years. She married and settled in East Weymouth. Widowed in 1969, she raised her 5 children, and while doing so met Guy Griffin, who became her life partner.

An avid reader, she enjoyed poetry, Stephen King novels. Marion loved to play scrabble and word games, do jigsaw puzzles, and play Whist. She also loved to go camping with Guy, her children, and later her grandchildren particularly to Russell Pond in N.H.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 5-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 9:30 AM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
