Marion A. Desantis

Marion Ann DeSantis (Laccona), age 95, died peacefully on Saturday, December 30^th at Hancock Park Nursing Home in Quincy.  Marion was born in Hingham to Nicola and Natalina (Papandrea) Laccona.

The beloved wife of 66 years of the late Frederick J. DeSantis, Sr., she was the mother of Frederick J. DeSantis Jr. and his wife Arlene of Plymouth, Dennis M. DeSantis of Weymouth and his late wife Susan; mother-in-law of Barbara M. (Bezanson) DeSantis of Weymouth; sister of the late Rose Lucca and her husband Rocco; sister-in-law of Carmella (DeSantis) Hammerle of Quincy and the late John DeSantis; grandmother of Deanne M. (DeSantis) Pettinelli and her husband Richard of Kingston, Nicole M. DeSantis of Weymouth and Kimberly Perkins of Bourne;  great-grandmother to Shaun and Max.  Marion is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Marion loved helping others and she looked after many sick and aging relatives and friends over the years.  Marion was a long time member of the Quincy City Hospital Women’s Auxiliary serving once as President and an active member of the Sons of Italy Lodge 1850 in Hingham, MA.  She was a dedicated mother and grandmother, always cooking and baking wonderful meals for her family. She loved the beach and especially spending time at her family’s house in Dennis, Cape Cod.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours MONDAY 3-7p.m. in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), Hingham.

Funeral service will be celebrated TUESDAY at 12:30 p.m. in Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, Hingham.

Burial in St. Pauls Cemetery, Hingham.
