Marilyn C. Rafferty

Marilyn C. Rafferty, 79, of Naples, FL, died Sunday, November 1, 2015. 

Formerly of Hingham, MA, she had been a Naples resident since 1999.  She was born August 7, 1936 in Franklin, MA, the daughter of John F. and Gertrude (Mitiguy) Cataldo.  Marilyn will be remembered for her love of life, her gregarious personality, her courage, and for the impact she has had on so many lives.  She never let her physical disability come in the way of making each day meaningful and brightening the lives of others. 

Mrs. Rafferty is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, David A. Rafferty; her beloved daughters, Carolyn (Jim) Morrissey of Chelmsford, MA and Julie (John) Curtin of Chester, NJ; her sister, Carol (the late Kevin) Flaherty of Norwood, MA; and seven cherished grandchildren, Kristin, Kara, Erin, Lindsey, Meghan, David and Meredith.  She was preceded in death by her son, David A. Rafferty, III, in 1983.  Sister-in-law to Patti and Bob Lopes of Plymouth, MA and Naples, FL.   She also leaves loving nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as an insurmountable amount of friends whose lives she has touched forever.  Thank you to her dear friend Bob McLaughlin of Lexington, MA and Naples, FL for bringing laughter and joy to her life in Florida. “Oh Honey” are words we will treasure. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, 1057 Main Street, Hingham, Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 9 AM.  Burial in Hingham Centre Cemetery.
