Marilyn A. Darling

Marilyn Darling (Boyd) of Hingham, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2023 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was 75 years old.

Born in Quincy, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Corinne (Morton) Boyd.

Marilyn grew up in Weymouth and shortly after her graduation from Weymouth High she started her first job at the New England Telephone company following in her father and grandfather’s footsteps.

Marilyn married her high school sweetheart, the late Frederick Darling Jr. and shortly after moved to Hingham to raise their family. She was the cherished mother of Kristin Simoneau and her husband Joseph of Haverhill, Dr. Jeffrey B. Darling and his wife Angelica of Hingham and Megan Mancini and her husband Kevin of Hingham. She was the proud nanny of Joseph, Jack, Cole, Alec, Grace and Gwen and the cherished sister of the Rev. Daniel A. Boyd of Thailand.

After taking some years off to raise her family, Marilyn went back to work for the Kids in Action Program in Hingham.  Marilyn’s happy place was Nova Scotia, were she enjoyed spending her summers at her cottage with family and enjoying the beautiful countryside.

Services will be held privately.
