Marijane “Jani” Anastas

Anastas, Marijane (Nee) “Jani” died March 18th at South Shore Hospital, Weymouth, surrounded by her loving family. 

She was the loving daughter of the late Mary “Sis” (Flaherty) and Robert Nee.  Born in Boston, Jani was raised and educated in Dorchester graduating from Monsignor Ryan Memorial High School, Class of 1966.  She also attended Boston State for two years. 

Jani is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years Peter G. Anastas and two daughters Traci and Kerri, all of Quincy, who will miss her eternally.  Sister of Jill and her husband Rick Nichols and Michael (BPD) and his wife Maureen, and niece of Patrick and Lorraine Flaherty, Anne Whalen and Pat Dooley. Also survived by her sister-in-laws Geri Gallagher, Dede Tramontozzi and Chrissie Anastas.  She was proud of her seven nephews, one niece and many cousins.

She was the late employee of Gallagher’s Catering, Boston City Hospital, Bay Bank, and Bank of Boston.  She was a homemaker, her family was her everything and she was happiest at family gatherings, holidays, baptisms, communions, confirmations and weddings.  Jani loved the Cape, where she spent many summers in Dennisport when her children were young and had great times with her family and many friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
