Marie S. Sarruda

Sarruda, Marie S. (Koutrouba) of Braintree, formerly of Yarmouth, passed away July 25, 2011. Beloved wife of the late Kirk J. Ampolos and Charles Sarruda. Loving mother of Venita Yeragotelis and her husband Demetrios of Braintree, Elaine Couture and her husband John of Braintree, and John Ampolos and his wife Jackie of San Diego. Step-mother of Allan Sarruda and his wife Carol of Weymouth, Cynthia Delpidio and her husband Louis of Boston, Thomas Sarruda of FL, and Michael Sarruda and his wife Lisa of Hanover. Sister of William Koutrouba of Plymouth and the late Evan Koutrouba. Also survived by 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Marie was a fun-loving person with an exuberance and passion for life. She had boundless energy and loved to cook and entertain. She was most proud of her family and was a mother to many, even those outside of her immediate circle. An avid golfer, she was a member of the Bass River Golf Club. She also enjoyed gardening and bowling. A community minded person, Marie was a Charter President of the Ladies Auxiliary BPD VFW Post #1018, President of Ladies Philoptochos at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Boston and Vice President and Treasurer of their Cape Cod chapter. She was also a member, and held office, in the Daughter’s of Penelope. Marie was a bookkeeper for many years in the financial management industry. She will be missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 AM in St. Catherine’s Greek Orthodox Church, Braintree. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
