Marie T. O'Callaghan

Marie T. O’Callaghan, a longtime resident of Quincy, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024. She was 88.

She was born in Loughrea, Co. Galway, Ireland to Mary Ann (Forde) and Thomas Pierce. She was raised in Ireland and moved to the US when she was 18. She met the love of her life, Pat at an Irish dance. They were married soon after and settled in Quincy where they raised their family and enjoyed a wonderful life together. 

Marie’s favorite way to spend time was with family. She loved trips to the family house on Cape Cod and traveling back to Ireland to visit family. She was a talented cake decorator and took pride in making wedding cakes for family and friends. Marie’s faith was strong. She was a lifelong, devout Catholic and a longtime parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Quincy.

Beloved wife of 59 years to the late Patrick J. O’Callaghan. Devoted mother to Kevin and his wife Joanne, John and his wife Cindy of Quincy and Neil and his wife Margaret of Hanover. Adoring nana to Johnny and his wife Alexandra, Brian, Jack, Aiden, Kevin and Emily O’Callaghan. Loving sister to Thomas Pierce and Nora Connaire of Ireland, and the late Rita Browne and Rose Newell of Dorchester and the late PJ Pierce and Evelyn Griffin of Ireland. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday, September 11th, from 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday, September 12th, prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Quincy.
