Marie J. Mcdonough

Marie J. McDonough (Jenkins) of Quincy formerly of Dorchester, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022.  She was 81.

She was born in Boston to Alice (Chambers) and William Jenkins and raised in Dorchester.  She graduated from South Boston High School and went on to earn her associate’s degree through Boston City Hospital School of Nursing.  After graduating, she became a Surgical Technician for a few years before starting her family.  After raising her family, Marie was itching to get back to work and became a Secretary for Granite Telecommunications.

Marie was a strong, pure beautiful person.  She loved her family, especially her grandchildren dearly.  She attended every dance recital and sporting event she could to show her support.  In her spare time she enjoyed knitting, hosting family holiday parties and volunteering for annual charity events hosted through her work.

Devoted mother of William McDonough of Braintree, Peter McDonough and his wife Marie of Quincy, Patrick McDonough of Quincy, Sean McDonough of Quincy and Kristen VanTassel and her husband Bernard of Quincy.  Loving sister of Adam Jenkins, Katheeln MacKinnon and her husband John, Lis Kimannen and her husband Michael and Deirdre Martin and her husband Richard Garnett.  Cherished grandmother of Johnny, Lukas, Elena, Timmy, Zinnia, Mason, Tabbitha, Gabriella, Emily, Bernard and Maximus.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday, February 15, from 4-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 16, at 10:30 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marie may be made to a charity of your choice.
