Marie E. Noonan

Marie Evelyn (Kaye) Noonan went home to God on September 5, 2014, surrounded by family and loved ones in her home at Linden Ponds, Hingham, MA after a long, full life.

Born on Leap Year Day 1920 to Joseph and Evelyn Kaye, she continued to be a very special woman until her death.

She attended Our Lady of Wisdom Academy in NY and worked in the business field until she proudly served as a U.S. Navy W.A.V.E. during WWII.  Following her honorable discharge Marie married and moved to Dorchester, MA, then to North Weymouth, MA where she lovingly raised her family with her husband, David Peter Noonan, now deceased.

Marie was very devoted to her Catholic faith and was always willing to pray for the multitude of requests that she constantly received.  She spent her lifetime volunteering for various organizations, commencing with St. Jerome’s bazaars to fund the new school through visiting nursing home patients and pushing the wheelchairs of other Linden Ponds residents.  Although she lost her sight to macular degeneration, she was regularly seen speedily moving whenever she was on her feet.  One of her sayings was ‘always keep one foot moving’.  Her exceptional memory, positive attitude, smiling face, thankfulness for everyone and everything, and tasty recipes, will be missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.  May we all continue her spirit by appreciating life and every experience that comes our way.

She is survived by son Thomas Noonan and wife Kathleen Casey of East Falmouth, MA, daughter Mary Panarelli and husband Mike Panarelli, of Marshfield, MA, daughter Anne Noonan and husband Douglas Anderson, of Seattle, WA, son Michael Noonan and wife Ginny Noonan of Cape Cod, MA, daughter Barbara Noonan and husband David Trost, of Seattle, WA and daughter Grace Noonan-Kaye, of Peaks Island, ME, 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Marie was pre-deceased by 4 siblings.
