Marie A. Doherty

Marie A. (Haley) Doherty of Hull, died in her home where she spent her 96 years of life, surrounded by her family on  August 21, 2022.  She was the beloved wife of the late  James E. Doherty, Sr.  Devoted mother of James E. Doherty, Jr., and his wife Carol of Norton and Mary Beth Tulio and her husband Ralph of Scituate.  She is predeceased by her 8 brothers,  the late Edward, Joseph, Francis, Walter, Thomas, Robert, Rev. William Haley and Paul Haley.  Cherished Grammy to her 5 grandchildren.  Kelly, Christine, Caitlin, Devin and Jonathan and  her 2 great grandchildren, Haley and Delaney. Marie is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Marie lived her entire life in the same home she grew up in. She graduated from Hingham High School , where she served as class secretary. Marie was always up to the challenge for a  picture puzzle. She loved her home and especially loved her view of the ocean from her sun room. She played the organ at St. Mary’s Church in Hull for many years. She was a devout Catholic and raised her family with the same values she was taught. Marie loved spending time  with her her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her faith and her family were the foundation of all that was truly important to her. Marie will be sadly missed, by all those who knew her.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Hull at 10:30 AM.

Burial in Hull Village Cemetery, Hull.
