Marie “Buzzy” Stokes (Pica)

Known as “Buzzy” by her friends, she loved playing the lottery and going to the Raynham Dog Track.  She was an excellent cook and baker and her specialties were homemade raviolis and ricotta pies that she made for the holidays. Buzzy was a devout Catholic and an active parishioner at both Saint Albert the Great Church and Immaculate Conception Church. She had an endless amount of friends and was the life of the party. Buzzy also had a talent for being fashionably late. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Born in Weymouth on September 12, 1924. She was the daughter of the late George and Annie (Pecararo) Pica.  She was married to John William Stokes until his passing in 1979.

Loving and proud mom of John Stokes of Weymouth, George Stokes and his companion Tammy Frazier of North Carolina, and Marc Stokes and his wife Lisa of Weymouth. Adoring grandmother to Anthony Stokes of Bourne, Kristina Stokes of Abington and Talia, Marc Jr.and Gianna Stokes all of Weymouth. She was the cherished sister of the late Joseph Pica, Gaeton Pica, John Pica and George Pica.  Also, will be remembered by many extended family members and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family at the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth on March 13th at 12 PM. Burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery,Weymouth on March 16th at 12 PM. See www.Keohane.com for directions and online condolences.
