Margot M. Isabelle

Isabelle, Margot M. (Thornton) of Hull, formerly of Hingham, died March 7, 2017.  

Margot Graduated from Emmanuel College and received her Master’s Degree at Simmons College.  She worked as a reference librarian at Hingham Library and later retired from MA College of Art Library.  Margot enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling and going for walks.  She was an active member of the Democratic Party.  Margot’s main passion in life was her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She will be sadly missed but never forgotten. 

Beloved mother of Mark C. Gilbert and his wife Claire of Maine, Brian M. Gilbert of Westford, Amy J. Simpson of Lakeville, Katrien R. Nosiglia of Norwell and Sarah T. Curtin of Hingham. Devoted grandmother of Patrick, Mickaelah, Coleman, Kevin and Leanne and great grandmother of Ethan, Allyson and John.  Caring sister of Kevin M. Thornton and his wife Collette of Needham, Lenore Thornton of Cotuit and the late Suzanne Thornton.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Cremation will follow. 

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Margot may be made to Salvation Army, 6 Baxter St., Quincy, MA 02169.
